Our Mission & Vision

  • Our Mission
ICCSD Online will ensure that all students who need flexible learning environments become responsible, independent learners capable of making informed decisions in a democratic society as well as in the dynamic global community.

    Our Vision
Curriculum: ICCSD Online will provide students with a comprehensive, advanced curriculum that is consistent with the standards of the Iowa Core Curriculum. The program will cover preschool through 12th grade and will award high school diplomas to all students who meet the state and district requirements.

Students: Students in ICCSD Online typically are those who need a flexible schedule, are curious, and have the ability to work independently. Students often want access to high levels of learning that may not be available in their current district and have unique learning needs that can be best addressed in an alternative classroom setting.

Teachers: ICCSD Online is composed of teachers who believe all students can learn and who use a variety of assessment tools and instructional methods. Online teachers embrace the online environment and the unique opportunities it offers students—including new chances to facilitate experiences that enhance creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, global learning, personalized learning, and authentic learning. Teachers in the ICCSD Online are flexible and empathetic to student needs while maintaining high expectations, and they collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative and enriching learning experiences.
